In Native American
mythology the raven is the only animal that can move back and forth
between the metaphysical world and our physical world. He is seen
by some as the escort of souls passing over. The
design on this piece moves freely between one world and the next. As the egg is
turned, the raven
in the foreground, perched on a dropped antler, becomes part of the distant
landscape in the spirit world. This is
the first of what will be a collection of allegorical eggs. |
